Listed below are some of the questions we most often
get from students. If you do not see your question listed,
please contact us and we will be happy to help you.
How much does the course cost?
The cost of the course is $279.00.

How do I enroll?
Call the office to schedule a time and/or book the class online.

How will I know if I am scheduled for the Date I selected?
After we have received your payment and registration information online or by mail we will notify you in writing by mail or e-mail. The
Confirmation Letter will contain the Class Code plus the Dates and Times you should arrive and the equipment you MUST bring with
you to the class. Make sure to bring the confirmation letter with you the day of the class as proof of payment.

Will I need a Learner's Permit to enroll?
No, you do not need a Learner's Permit to enroll, however a valid Massachusetts motorcycle learners permit is required for the first
classroom session if you are a Massachusetts resident. Non-Mass residents please call the office for more details.

Where should I arrive after I have signed up?
We will send out a confirmation letter describing where you should arrive. We have a classroom location and a Range location
(where the motorcycle riding is done). All students will typically attend classroom first which is located at Cycle Design.

How many classes a week do you offer?
Typically we have two classes (of up to 12 student per class) every weekend from April till November. There is a Friday, Saturday
and Sunday class (see calendar or http://www.smmotorcycleschool.com/frisatsun.html for details) and a class that is Saturday and
Sunday (9am-5pm both days). We occasionally offer weekday classes if there is a demand.

What do the class codes mean?
A class code of APR05-005 means that the class starts on April 5th (APR05) and it is the fifth class of the year (hence the 005).

I've signed up for a class online but have not received confirmation what do I do?
Signing up for a class is the three step process. The third step is to register (see www.smmotorcycleschool.com/step3.html).
When you perform the registration process (step 3) we receive your physical address so we can mail your confirmation letter via
mail. Your confirmation letter tells you where to arrive, what to bring and so on.

How do I get a Learners Permit?
Please contact the Massachusetts registry of motor vehicles for a Learner's Permit. If you pre-pay for your motorcycle license,
when you apply for the learners permit, you will receive your new license, once you pass the course (restrictions apply). The new
license will be sent to you in the mail. When you receive your confirmation form the SM motorcycle training, take it with you to the
registry and ask about pre-pay.

What does pre-paid or pre-pay for license mean?
Massachusetts resident students with a valid Mass motorcycle permit may go to the nearest Registry office and let them know
they are taking our course. The RMV will charge a pre-paid fee of $15 (fee subject to change at the RMV's discretion). What this

Contact SM Motorcycle School (978-571-1457) at least 10 Days before your scheduled class. Please understand that many
schools (including ours) from time to time are booked up months in advance. Should you have the ability to schedule in six days,
(therefore not being able to give a 10 day notice) we still need you to attend. We need at least 10 days notice. We have a very
rigorous schedule to keep and if you change your mind at the last minute we still have to pay our instructors, other expenses and
do not have time to fill your slot.
